HISTORY/INSPIRATION

Sterling Drive Studios began as an inspiration, a deep desire to create a beautiful, inviting place where people felt supported, safe and encouraged to express their individual creative voice, a place accessible to people of all ages and abilities where the only talent or requirement was a willingness to explore one’s individual inner world through creative processes. This was the first step.

Transforming a building into a warm, inviting space was the second step. 5378 Sterling Drive in Boulder, Colorado is located on the east side of town. The wonderful red brick Art Deco style home was built in 1940. It’s large, light filled rooms and beautifully landscaped grounds are an invitation to enter and explore creative territory.

Involving others who have a passion for fostering and encouraging creative expression was the third step. We are building a community of artists and creative people who work with people of all ages and abilities, inspiring creative exploration, and engendering a center where people gather and spontaneous expression flourishes.
